About Lone Star Steakhouse
Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon is a chain of casual dining restaurants serving primarily steak, salad and seafood to its customers. The chain opened its first restaurant in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1989. By 1992, it had eight restaurants and had become a public ally-listed company.
The business continued opening chains throughout the United States; although none of them were actually located in the state of Texas. However, due to the financial downturn beginning in 2008, it made the decision to close 27 of its restaurants, mostly in the Washington, DC area. Today, Lone Star has restaurants in more than 150 locations.
